The Kansas City Chiefs are getting underway with their preparations for the Detroit Lions in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season.

With the holiday weekend ahead, Andy Reid treated Friday as a Monday and met with members of the media briefly via Zoom to discuss his team. He kicked things off with a positive update on the injury front, echoing what Brett Veach mentioned earlier in the week

“Alright, so I don’t have any injuries for you," Reid said. "I’ll tell you that everybody practiced yesterday but other than that it looks good so far."

The Chiefs will release their first practice report (in estimation) on Monday, but knowing that everyone practiced on Thursday is an extremely good sign.

That means that players who missed preseason Week 3 with an injury — L'Jarius Sneed (knee), Kadarius Toney (knee), Nic Jones (hand), and Nick Allegretti (shoulder) — all practiced in some capacity. All the players injured during preseason Week 3 — Leo Chenal (hip), Wanya Morris (Shoulder), Cam Jones (concussion) — participated in practice in at least a limited capacity. It also means there have been no significant setbacks for Tershawn Wharton (knee) and Isiah Pacheco (shoulder).

Entering the 2023 NFL season with practically everyone on the 53-man roster available to play would be a huge boon for Kansas City. It already looks like they'll be down a man, with Chris Jones' holdout ongoing, so they'll need all of the help they can possibly get.
