We are one day closer to the matchup of the week in the NFL between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills.

The Chiefs got some good news during Thursday’s practice as a starter returned after sitting out on Wednesday. The Bills also had a starting player return, but another was held out. Let’s examine both team’s full injury reports.

Observations:

  • Thompson took a step backward on Thursday and wasn’t able to practice. It may be precaution, but if he doesn’t practice again on Friday, he could be a longshot to play on Sunday.
  • Jones missed his second consecutive practice. His odds of playing don’t look good, but we’ll know more on Friday’s final injury report.
  • Palmer returned on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s practice.

Observations:

  • Pacheco missed his second straight practice with an MCL strain, and is likely not suiting up to play on Sunday.
  • Brown returned on Thursday and should be good to go barring a setback.
  • Smith logging two practices in a row is a good signed for his availability for Sunday, although he has been limited up to this point.
