The Kansas City Chiefs hired former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy earlier this offseason to replace Mike Kafka as the franchise's quarterbacks coach.

Nagy previously served as the Chiefs' quarterbacks coach from 2013 to 2015 and the offensive coordinator from 2016 to 2017.

On Wednesday, Kansas City head coach Andy Reid commented on Nagy's return to the Chiefs, admitting that he wasn't sure the former Bears head coach would want to return to being a position coach.

Reid was then reminded that Nagy gets to coach Patrick Mahomes, which is a more attractive position coach job than most.

"That's better than a jelly donut," said Reid about getting to coach Mahomes.

Here's the clip:

Having Mahomes on the roster certainly makes everyone's job in Kansas City a lot easier.

The former Texas Tech standout is arguably the best quarterback in the NFL. Who wouldn't want to be his quarterbacks coach?

Nagy, who faced a lot of criticism for his tenure with the Bears despite going 34-31 in four seasons, will likely be able to quickly parlay his time with Mahomes in 2022 into another offense coordinator gig (maybe with the Chiefs, again, if Eric Bieniemy finally gets a head coaching job after next season).

Kansas City will once again be a Super Bowl favorite in 2022 — with or without Nagy — thanks to the presence of Mahomes on the roster.
