Update: Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy’s status was downgraded on Saturday.

We are just two days away from the Super Bowl LIX rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

Both teams have wrapped practices for the week, and will take the field against each other at 3:25 p.m. CT on Sunday. This is the Chiefs’ 2025 home opener, and they’ll be leaning on a rowdy crowd to energize them as they look to avoid the dread 0-2 start.

Observations:

  • Although Philadelphia has plenty of weapons, Goedert missing this game significant. He is a safety blanket for quarterback Jalen Hurts, and Goedert led the Eagles with seven receptions in Week 1.
  • Williams popped up on Thursday’s injury report with a limited practice, and regressed to not practicing at all on Friday. The Eagles will be without their backup right tackle.
  • With Shipley officially out for this game, expect to see some of Philadelphia’s latest acquisition running back Tank Bigsby on Sunday.

Observations:

  • Worthy shockingly logged two limited practices this week as he nurses a separated shoulder. Coach Andy Reid left a slim chance for Worthy to play against the Eagles, but it’s unlikely. Still, the progress that Worthy is making is very encouraging.
  • 2025 second-round draft pick Omarr Norman-Lott will make his regular season debut on Sunday after missing out on Week 1 with an ankle injury. The Chiefs’ pass rush could certainly use him.
  • Royals being out has been expected all week, and it is getting a bit worrisome that is has yet to return to practice.
