The Kansas City Chiefs have released their first depth chart for the 90-man offseason roster ahead of Week 1 of the 2023 NFL preseason.

It's important to note that these depth charts are considered "unofficial" despite coming from the team itself. Why is that the case? While they are informed by what has been seen during training camp practices, they are assembled by the team’s PR staff and not the coaching staff.

An example: In Week 1 of the 2017 NFL preseason, Tyler Bray was listed ahead of Patrick Mahomes.

You have to take these things with a grain of salt and know that they're constantly evolving and changing in the eyes of the coaching staff and front office members.

With that said, here is a look at the initial depth chart in all of its glory:

The team will release an updated depth chart ahead of each preseason game. Sometimes they’ll reflect personnel changes, such as new player acquisitions or injuries to players. It can also reflect changes if a player exceeds expectations early on.

At the same time, since this isn't updated by the coaching staff, it might not reflect exactly what they have in mind come the regular season.
