The Philadelphia Eagles received some bulletin board material ahead of their matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.
And it has nothing to do with the Chiefs.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk gave the Eagles' defense plenty of motivation this week thanks to some shade he threw.
Aiyuk suggested during an appearance on the SFNiners podcast that Philly's defense isn't that good and they got lucky against the 49ers. He also said the Eagles will be exposed against the Chiefs.
Maybe Aiyuk is right and the Chiefs will light up the Eagles' defense. If any team has the offense to expose the Philly defense, it's Kansas City.
But Aiyuk's comments make little sense when the Eagles' defense was dominant from the start against the 49ers in the NFC Championship game.
The Chiefs and the Eagles were the two best teams all season. It should be a great matchup in the Super Bowl that comes down to the final moments.
And the last thing Kansas City wants is for Philly to have extra bulletin board material for the big game.
In the AFC Championship game, it was the Cincinnati Bengals that gave the Chiefs plenty of bulletin board material. For the Super Bowl, it'll be the Eagles that have the extra motivation. And it's not even Kansas City's fault.
