November is the NFL’s Salute to Service month.

The NFL and USAA recognize NFL players, coaches, staff and alumni who serve and honor military and veteran communities. On Wednesday they revealed each team’s nominees for the prestigious 2025 Salute to Service Award.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Noah Gray nominated for 2025 Salute to Service Award

Gray is in his fifth season with the Chiefs. Here is why he was nominated, per NFL communications:

“Noah Gray continues to use his platform to honor, uplift, and connect with U.S. military service members and veterans. His commitment is especially evident through his partnership with Friends in Service of Heroes (FISH), a Kansas City-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting active-duty personnel, reservists, honorably discharged veterans, and their families.

“Gray’s relationship with FISH began in 2021, following a meeting with members of the organization. The encounter sparked an enduring connection leading him to provide service dogs and offer adaptive equipment that fosters resilience and independence. Beyond these efforts, Gray has offered his support during the holiday season and stood in solidarity with veterans navigating hardship.

“USAA will contribute $25,000 in the recipient’s name to official aid societies representing all U.S. military branches. The NFL Foundation will match USAA’s contribution by donating an additional $25,000 to the awardee’s military non-profit charity of choice.”

You can place your vote for Gray here. Another tight end, George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers, won the award last year. It would certainty be a huge honor for Gray, who signed a three-year, $18 million contract extension with $10.1 guaranteed with Kansas City last season.

He earned it after setting career highs in receptions (40), receiving yards (437), and touchdowns (five). So far in 2025 Gray has caught 11 passes for 98 yards. He is a very sound blocker, and a special teams contributor. He and the Chiefs will look to start November off with a bang by defeating the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
