The Kansas City Chiefs stunned the NFL world last offseason by trading wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins.

Hill appeared to be locked in for the long haul in Kansas City. The expectation was that Hill would receive a new contract at some point with the Chiefs.

Kansas City, however, decided to trade Hill when it became apparent that they weren't going to meet his contract demands. There was also the fact that Hill seemingly "wanted out" because he felt like he wasn't being utilized properly in KC.

As a result, Hill landed in South Beach (and proceeded to have the best year of his career).

The Chiefs didn't necessarily want to experience life without a stud wide receiver on the roster. So they apparently tried to pursue a replacement for Hill via trade.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown revealed this week on the "Raw Room" podcast that Kansas City tried to trade for him when he was still with the Tennessee Titans (the Eagles acquired Brown on draft night last year).

Brown said while the Eagles were in talks with the Titans, the Chiefs and the New York Jets were also trying to get involved.

"My agent called and was like 'Philly is fixing to make a push for you'," said Brown. "I'd been [pursued] by a couple of teams. The Chiefs tried to get me. A couple of other teams like the Jets."

According to Brown, the Eagles made the biggest push and that's why he landed in Philly.

The Chiefs clearly made the right decision by not making a big push for Brown — after all, Kansas City beat Philly and Brown in the Super Bowl.

But it's still fun to think about what a Brown/Patrick Mahomes connection would've looked like in KC. Mahomes with Travis Kelce and Brown might've broken an NFL scoring record.

But hey, it all worked out just fine for the Chiefs. I'm sure they wouldn't change a thing about how last offseason played out.
