Week 11 of the NFL season will bring an absolute banger of a football game that will be played on Sunday at 4:25 ET. Any time that the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills matchup, you know it is going to be a good one.
Of course, star defensive tackle Chris Jones is looking forward to the game and the task of slowing down Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Though, that is not the only reason that Jones is ready to get to Buffalo.
“I completely enjoy playing in Buffalo. They got the best wings. They really do. They have some of the best wings I ever tasted,” Jones said on Thursday. “A fanbase very similar to ours, very in tune, very passionate about their teams. So we know when we go up there, it's not only the Bills we're playing.”
There you have it, Jones is going to devour some chicken wings while he is in New York. He even went on to say that he’s probably ordering 50. Yes, 50.
The Chiefs are the NFL’s lone undefeated team at 9-0 on the season. Facing the Bills (8-2) is huge for the playoff picture, especially now that we are over halfway through the season. The No. 1 seed is important to every team, including the Chiefs, and Sunday’s game very well could have implications on that seed.
Allen has been an MVP-level quarterback this season for the Bills and he does a ton for them. It isn’t just his rocket of an arm, he’s going to beat you with the leads too.
“I think he's a better runner than Pat, Pat more so is a sneaky runner [that can] fool you sometimes how fast he can be and get through situations. But Josh Allen is not fooling anyone, he can run through you [and] he can outrun you,” Jones explained. “He’s also a threat at passing the ball from every angle. He's limited his mistakes, you know, get the ball out. So, even if you haven't wrapped up, he tends to still throw the ball.”
Kansas City boasts one of the best defenses in the league and they are allowing the third least years per game at 300.8. The Chiefs are allowing 17.9 points per game, which is tied for fifth in the NFL.
“It's hard for us to beat him during the regular season. We got to try to figure that part out, very good team, very, very good team, and a well-respected head coach. They’re building that team defensively, and Josh is making some things happen on offense. So, you know, it's a complete team, one of the better teams that we may have the opportunity to face.”
The last time the two teams met was in the playoffs last season and Kansas City snuck away with a 27-24 win to move into the AFC Championship game. These two teams could very well meet again in the playoffs, it would surprise no one. Jones and the defense will need to be up for the task, perhaps some pregame wings may do the trick.
