The Kansas City Chiefs have the most marketable player in the NFL. Well, his teammate Travis Kelce may currently be even more prominent because of his upcoming marriage to Taylor Swift. Still, apart from that, Patrick Mahomes has built a juggernaut of a brand.

Now he’s taking that marketing to golf, a sport he’s fallen in love with over the years.

In line with this growing passion, Mahomes is set to become the first non-golf Adidas athlete to launch his own golf line, according to Front Office Sports. This move not only highlights his expanding influence but also sets a new trend, one that Adidas sees him as uniquely suited to lead.

“Patrick is the tip of the spear, in terms of all the athletes we can tap into,” Adidas Golf president Jeff Lienhart told FOS.

Mahomes has done a brilliant job with his marketing and branding

It helps when you win three Super Bowls and go to five all before the age of 30. You come into the league with a distinguished play style that we haven’t seen as often until now, and don’t forget the haircut that took the league by storm.

Mahomes also has a brand deal with Adidas, through which he’s been able to use his own logo on items, including his Alma Mater’s new uniforms. Texas Tech has had two different uniforms labeled “Mahomes Uniforms,” with his logo on the chest rather than the Adidas logo.

A few years ago, Mahomes participated in several golf events. He did one with Kelce, where they were a duo against Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, when the two were teammates on the Golden State Warriors. Then, he did a match against Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who’s also an avid golfer.

Golf is already entertaining, but when personalities from different sports join in—even if they aren’t experts—it becomes even more relatable and fun to watch. Building on this appeal, Mahomes is now poised to have his own golf brand, much like Curry before him.
