Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, consistently receives a lot of criticism on social media.
And I'm not really sure why.
Mahomes is often seen at Chiefs games cheering on her husband. She's incredibly supportive of Patrick and his career. But for whatever reason, she's constantly the target of criticism from the media/fans on social media.
For example, Mahomes was trashed in the media earlier this year after spraying champagne on fans during the celebration of the Chiefs' thrilling overtime win against the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs.
There was plenty of backlash for the champagne shower from Mahomes.
While the Brittany-spraying-champagne-on-fans incident was highly publicized for about a week, there doesn't seem to be the same level of attention swirling around Golden State Warriors forward Otto Porter Jr, who doused fans in champagne during Golden State's NBA championship celebration.
There's no difference between what Porter did and what Mahomes did. So why the different reactions? Why not the same outrage over Porter?
Hypocrisy at its finest.
