The 2024 NFL draft is officially in the books for the Kansas City Chiefs, and they have welcomed seven new players to their team in this quest for a three-peat in Super Bowl LIX.
Brett Veach and his staff addressed several needs on Kansas City’s roster, adding key pieces at wide receiver and offensive tackle in the first two days of the draft. On Day 3, the team added some intriguing skill sets on both sides of the ball.
Take a look at the Chiefs’ entire 2024 rookie draft class below:

Round 1, Pick 28: Texas WR Xavier Worthy
The Legion of Zoom reborn in Kansas City. Worthy brings lightning-fast speed and savvy route-running to the Chiefs' offense after setting the record for the fastest 40-yard dash (4.21s) at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine in Indy. The 21-year-old is coming off a dominant season for the Longhorns with 75 catches for over 1,000 yards and five touchdowns in 2023. As an 18-year-old freshman, he caught 62 passes for 981 yards and 12 touchdowns, earning All-American, First-Team All-Conference, and the Big-12 Freshman of the Year award.

Round 2, Pick 63: BYU OT Kingsley Suamataia
Andy Reid gets one from his alma mater Brigham Young. This 21-year-old is the future of the left tackle position in Kansas City. Listed at 6-foot-6 and 326 pounds with 34 1/8-inch arms, Suamataia has all of the tools to be a left tackle in the league, but he does need some technique refinement. He is cousins with Lions OT Penei Sewell, Bears LB Noah Sewell, and Saints LB Nephi Sewell, and generally has strong NFL bloodlines. Suamataia has over 1,200 snaps between left and right tackle over the past two seasons for the Cougars, allowing just 24 pressures and two sacks in that span.

Round 4, Pick 131: TCU TE Jared Wiley
A team captain for the Horned Frogs in 2023, Wiley is a tremendous athlete. At 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds, he has the size to excel as a blocker in the NFL. He allowed just one QB pressure all season in 2023. That size also translates when it comes to his catch radius. What's most impressive about Wiley is his speed (4.62s 40-yard dash), athleticism, and receiving ability for his size. He's a big dude, but he moves and accelerates like someone much smaller. As for college production, he led the FBS with the most touchdown grabs by a tight end in 2023 (8).

Round 4, Pick 133: Washington State S Jaden Hicks
Versatility is the name of the game for the 21-year-old defender out of Washington State. At 6-foot-2 and 211, he can play any number of positions on defense. Free safety? No problem. Strong safety? Prepare to get hit. Dime linebacker? Played it often. Nickel corner? He can cover tight ends and slot receivers. This is another do-it-all chess piece for Steve Spagnuolo's defense and he could prove to be a difference-maker in a short period. In the past two seasons at Washington State, he appeared in 25 games, recording 155 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, three interceptions, 10 passes defended, and two defensive touchdowns.

Round 5, Pick 159: Penn State OL Hunter Nourzad
A big need addressed to add depth to the interior offensive line. Nourzad started his career at Cornell where he played tackle before transferring to Penn State where he's played both guard spots and center. Listed at 6-foot-3 and 315 pounds, he didn't allow a single sack and just 16 total pressures while playing center for the Nittany Lions in 2023. Chiefs scout Cassidy Kaminsky revealed that Nourzad is quite smart. He was recruited just as ardently by the engineering department at Penn State as he was by the football program.

Round 6, Pick 211: Tennessee CB Kamal Hadden
Hadden probably would have been available earlier if not for a season-ending injury in 2023. A 23-year-old cornerback prospect out of the University of Tennessee, Hadden spent one year of his college career in JUCO at Independence Community College in Kansas. The 6-foot-1 and 196-pound cornerback allowed just a 7.0 passer rating into his coverage in 2023 according to PFF, ranking the lowest among all CBs in college football. He appeared in seven games that season with 11 passes defended and three interceptions.

Round 7, Pick 248: Holy Cross OG C.J. Hanson
Listed at 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, Hanson is a talented athlete. He jumped a 33.5-inch vertical, a 115-inch broad jump, a 5-second 40-yard dash, and a 1.76s 10-yard split at the Holy Cross Pro Day. He has played strictly right guard during his career, with over 2,100 snaps at the position over the last three seasons. In that span, he allowed 27 pressures and just one sack. This feels more like the Chiefs getting a head start on undrafted free agency and securing a player at a position of need (interior offensive line).
Tamba Hali latest legend to be inducted into the Kansas City Chiefs’ Hall of Fame
A well-deserved honor for one of the greatest pass rushers in Kansas City Chiefs franchise history.
