Pro Football Focus recently named a free agent that each NFL team can't afford to lose this offseason and they went with an obvious choice for the Kansas City Chiefs.
PFF's Brad Spielberger believes offensive lineman Orlando Brown Jr is a player the Chiefs can't let get away later this spring.
Brown’s 2022 season got off to a rocky start after a lengthy franchise tag dispute, but he finished the season quite strong. From Week 7 on, his 81.6 overall grade ranked eighth and his 86.1 pass-blocking grade ranked seventh.
Brown could further cement his value near the top of the tackle market with a good showing in the conference championship round against the Cincinnati Bengals, and perhaps in the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles or San Francisco 49ers. All three teams have strong pass-rush units, and if Kansas City is somehow able to overcome Patrick Mahomes’ high ankle sprain, you can bet that’s in part due to good performances from his blindside protector.

Brown and the Chiefs weren't able to work out an extension last offseason.
But that wasn't because Kansas City was being cheap — they were aggressive with their offer. It just wasn't what Brown was looking for in a new deal.
ESPN's Adam Schefter said last summer that both sides will hope to work out an agreement after the 2022 season.
Brown struggled a bit early in the season, but he rebounded in the second half of the season.
Does that change the contract value that Brown will look for this offseason?
That much is unclear.
What we do know, though, is that Kansas City needs to figure out a way to get a deal done. Replacing Brown wouldn't be easy.
