Could the Kansas City Chiefs make a huge trade this offseason for an NFL superstar?
One NFL analyst thinks they should.
Eric Moody, an analyst with ESPN, suggested on Twitter this week that Kansas City should trade for New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley.
It makes sense that New York would look to deal Barkley (they're willing to "entertain" offers for the star running back this offseason).
The Giants likely aren't competing for a Super Bowl in 2022. And Barkley will be a free agent after the 2022 season. They should try to get something out of him before he departs in free agency.
I'm not sure, however, that dealing for Barkley would make sense for the Chiefs.

Sure, Barkley is an electric player when he's healthy. But that's been the problem over the last few years — he hasn't been able to consistently stay on the field. The former Penn State standout has missed 19 games over the last 3 years. He hasn't played a full season since his rookie year in 2018.
If the price is cheap, then I could see the Chiefs taking a swing. Kansas City could absolutely use another running back — Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has also had issues staying healthy.
But if the price is high, then Kansas City shouldn't even consider it. The Chiefs have more pressing issues — like addressing their pass rush.
Barkley in KC would be fun. But I'm not sure it's realistic.
