Yesterday, Joe Burrow finally admitted the truth. When asked who the best quarterback in the league is, he immediately said Patrick Mahomes.
While Burrow is an amazing young QB in his own way, Mahomes sits on top of the throne right now. The two QBs have met in the AFC Championship two years in a row, and there is no sign that either is slowing down.
So far in his career, Mahomes already has two Super Bowls MVPs, two MVPs and has made the AFC champions game in five consecutive seasons.
"I don't think there is any argument right now; it's Pat [Mahomes]," Burrow told the media on Tuesday. "Until someone has a better year than he's had, he's the one to knock off."
Today, Ja'marr Chase decided to go in a different direction. When asked who the number one player in the NFL is, Chase immediately says, "Joe Burrow." He follows it up by saying, "everybody knows that it's easy, MVP."
The reporter then informs him that when Burrow was asked that question, he said Pat (Patrick Mahomes). Chase's response was, "Pat who?"
While Chase obviously knows who Mahomes is, this seemed like a subtle shot at the rival QB. Even if the QB-WR duo may be on opposite sides of the Mahomes vs. Burrow argument, these exchanges will only add intrigue to their next matchup.
