Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach might have the best job in sports.

Part of the reason that's the case is because of the great work that Veach has done since taking over as Kansas City's general manager prior to the 2017 season.

The Chiefs' roster is in a great place thanks to Veach, but there are always improvements that can be made.

With Kansas City's roster being in great shape, the Chiefs can afford to take some gambles in the 2023 NFL Draft.

One ESPN NFL insider thinks that's exactly what Kansas City will do in the first round of the draft later this month.

ESPN's Jordan Reid says he has his eye on the Chiefs as a team that could trade up in the first round.

From ESPN: I have my eye on the Kansas City Chiefs. We saw them trade up for cornerback Trent McDuffie last year (No. 29 to No. 21), and I could see general manager Brett Veach moving up again this year. With 10 draft picks and a roster that doesn't have many open spots, it makes sense if the team sees an opportunity to land an impact player. Kansas City has holes at offensive tackle and edge rusher, two positions that are plentiful in the first round. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chiefs move up from No. 31 into the early 20s for a top-tier prospect at one of those spots.

One player to keep an eye on could be Tennessee Vols offensive tackle Darnell Wright.

The expectation is that Wright will be drafted in the top 20. But if he falls to around No. 20, the Chiefs might think hard about trading up to land him.

Wright is a true right tackle who allowed zero sacks last season despite playing against potential first-round picks in edge rushers Will Anderson (Alabama) and BJ Ojulari (LSU).

The last time the Chiefs selected an offensive lineman from Tennessee (Trey Smith) it worked out pretty well. Perhaps they'll return to Rocky Top for their first-round pick in 2023.
