The Kansas City Chiefs won't have to wait long to see RB Isiah Pacheco back on the gridiron, at least according to one NFL insider's reporting.

The Chiefs won't have Pacheco for Week 11 against the Buffalo Bills, however, the third-year star could return very soon. Pacheco was designated to return to practice this past week, alongside DE Charles Omenihu, opening up his 21-day practice window. Pacheco will remain on injured reserve until he's activated to the 53-man roster, but that move could come as early as next week per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Check out the latest report from NFL Network's "NFL GameDay" below:

"For the Kansas City Chiefs, they, of course, are playing today," Rapoport said. "They do not have their star running back, Isiah Pacheco. (He) started practicing this week, not quite ready. My understanding is that he is expected to be healthy enough next week. They have a short week coming up after that, so maybe the trainers hold him out just as a precaution, but he is coming, and it should be soon."

Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco could return for Week 12 vs. the Panthers

Rapoport indicated that Kansas City could get Pacheco back as early as Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers next week. On one hand, they could choose to be cautious with Pacheco knowing there's a short week following Week 12. On the other hand, the third-year pro has played just seven quarters of football so far this season, recording 34 carries for 135 yards and a rushing touchdown. He might need the Carolina game as a bit of a runway to get going again ahead of what will surely be a physical contest against an AFC West rival.

If Pacheco is held out for Week 12 vs. the Panthers, he'd certainly be back in the fold for Week 13's Black Friday game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Who will lead the backfield upon Pacheco's return? Kareem Hunt expects a scenario he's all too familiar with from his time in Cleveland.
