It's that time of the year again when the Kansas City Chiefs are one of the best teams through six weeks, and the trade deadline is approaching. It's that time of the year when every Chiefs fan and major media member starts saying these big-name players are going to the Chiefs.
Something similar happened in the offseason with Deandre Hopkins and Odell Beckham Jr., in which the Chiefs got neither of those players. It happens all the time in the offseason, and now it will happen at the trade deadline, Halloween day at 3 p.m. Central Standard Time.
However, this trade deadline is a bit different. The Chiefs don't have that much cap space, so all of these big-named players, yeah, those guys likely will be wearing red and gold sometime soon. All of the Brian Burns, Danielle Hunter, and Chase Youngs – those guys will not be joining the Chiefs, as much as we would love to see them there.
Instead, I put together a list of three guys we could see end up on the Chiefs as the deadline approaches.
3 possible moves for the Chiefs to make
Darnell Mooney, Chicago Bears WR

I think we all know that the Chiefs need some wide receiver help, especially now that Justin Watson, who has looked like one of the best receivers on the team thus far, will be out for a bit. The Chiefs yug receiver group hasn’t played as well as we all expected, and that’s okay; there is still time to improve it.
Darnell Mooney is on a bad Bears offense and has been rumored to have been shopped so far this season. The connection is there, as he played for Matt Nagy in Chicago before, so he would know some of the same verbiage. He also is cheap. According to Spotrac, he is on a four-year, $3.5 million contract, with this being his last year before he hits free agency. So, he would be cheap to get, and his cap hit of $3 million wouldn't put the Chiefs over the cap. Mooney has the speed that the Chiefs covet in a receiver and can be a deep threat in this offense.
Mecole Hardman, New York Jets WR

While I know fans don’t really care for Hardman coming back, it does make some sense. First of all, He would be cheap and know the offense. So, that right there is enough. Then add in Watson going down. Hardman has not been playing for the Jets, as he claims he is healthy, but the team just won’t play him. We know that when he is healthy, he is good enough to play on any offense, mainly because of his speed.
Since he is healthy, we could see the Chiefs at least ask about him, but I wouldn't be surprised if they traded for him. His base salary this year is $1 million, so the Chiefs can afford me in that aspect. Remember, too, this guy can score touchdowns, especially in the red zone, which seems to be the Chiefs' biggest issue.
Frank Clark, Denver Broncos DE

The Kansas City Chiefs parted ways with Frank Clark this offseason, and it was one of the more sad moves of the offseason. Clark was once with the team and won two Super Bowls. He took a deal with the Broncos that would pay him more, and then he gave some of the money back to leave. He did not want to be a part of what they had going on.
It wouldn't be a trade at the deadline, but it would be an addition. The Chiefs could use more veteran presence on the deg with their very young group of players they have. However, by signing him, the Chiefs would likely have to let him know that he wouldn't have near the role he previously did with the Chiefs.
And Andy Reid said that the team is already talking about bringing him back, so there's that, too.
Broncos sign former Chiefs DE Frank Clark
Sean Payton and George Paton are doing everything they can to turn the Denver Broncos organization around. The latest splash signing further proves that.
