The Kansas City Chiefs (1-1) are set to head home to the confines of GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to face the Chicago Bears (0-2) in Week 3 of the 2023 NFL season on Sunday, Sept. 24.
Kansas City is fresh off its first win of the season on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while Chicago is coming off its second consecutive loss to an NFC opponent.
According to the folks at DraftKings Sportsbook, the Chiefs are 12.5-point favorites over the Bears in Week 3. That's the biggest point spread of the season so far for K.C. and their biggest since Week 17 of the 2022 NFL season against the Denver Broncos. The over/under point total is 49 points, the highest of the week so far. The Kansas City moneyline is currently listed at -750, giving the Chiefs an 88.24% implied win probability.
Kansas City is 1-1 against the spread this season and 0-2 on the over/under point totals through two weeks of play. Chicago is 0-2 against the spread and 2-0 on the over/under point total thus far.
The Bears' defense has not been good through the first two weeks of the 2023 NFL season. They're certainly not going to be sharing any records with the '84 Bears defense. Chicago allowed a whopping 562 passing yards and four passing touchdowns to go along with 212 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns during that span to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Green Bay Packers.
This is going to be a personal game for Matt Nagy, who was fired as the Bears' head coach in 2021, after four seasons. This matchup could provide an opportunity for Nagy's offense to get back on track after an undisciplined game in Week 2.
