Chiefs’ biggest flaw got massively exposed even more than it already has this season by the Cowboys

The Chiefs pass rush is terrible, and the Cowboys exposed it.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a very poor pass rush, and it could be the biggest issue for this team in 2025. They’re now 6-6 after the Thanksgiving loss to the Dallas Cowboys. In that game, the Cowboys’ offensive line dominated the Chiefs’ defensive line. They exposed KC, as if they hadn’t been exposed in the last three games.

When you look at this team’s stats per game, it might amaze you that they have yet to record a sack as a team in 11 quarters, which is two games and three quarters of another game. Their last sack came against the Denver Broncos, where they had two in that first quarter alone. And, the worst part is, Denver has a decent offensive line.

They haven’t been able to do anything since then.

Chiefs’ pass rush issue won’t be fixed till next season, maybe

There is no way that they can fix the pass rush this season. Chris Jones is double teamed every snap it feels like, and others aren’t winning their one on one reps, outside of George Karlaftis every now and then. There is no one on the roster that will start playing and just provide instant pass rush. There is no one they can sign to fix it and if there was, this team probably wouldn’t sign them anyways.

The only way it will get fixed is through the 2026 NFL draft, or free agency. With the draft, they can fix this issue with the edge rusher position. This draft class is loaded with edge rushers, especially near the top of the draft. That should be the preferred route for that position this offseason.

As for the defensive tackle position, they can find one in the draft, but this class at that position is kind of weak. They should still draft one, but they shouldn’t expect the guy they draft to immediately come in and make an impact in the pass rush. They can get a guy who can develop into one, and that should be the goal.

With the interior, they may need to hit free agency. There should be some decent guys available, but the one that can be the difference in the pass rush for the Chiefs seems to be banking on Omar Norman-Lott and his development going into his second year, if he can recover from his injury.

The Chiefs have a lot of work to do to fix this pass rush. For now, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will have to just keep blitzing.
