Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is a two-time NFL MVP, two-time Super Bowl MVP, and two-time Super Bowl champion. He has won countless accolades during his young career, yet he continues to be an everyman in many ways.
The latest revelation comes after Mahomes was asked a simple question: "What is your preferred kickoff time?"
His answer likened him to many Chiefs fans and NFL fans around the league.
“I think during the regular season I prefer that 3 o’clock window just because it’s right (in the middle)," Mahomes proclaimed. "Especially when you’re at home you get to get home and watch the night game and everything like that not too late."
Of course, the Chiefs play at the 3:25 p.m. CT slot seven times this season. They're in that slot with a greater frequency than any time slot this season. Fans tend to agree that it's the best time to watch.
"We agree on this. I knew I liked this guy," Kylie Winfrey wrote.
"It’s my favorite time to watch," Kacy Sager wrote.
"This is also the case for the fans," Tyler Watterson wrote.
"Patrick Mahomes and I have a lot of favorites. We both love ketchup on steak, both favorite desserts are cookie cake, and both love 3:25 kickoffs," Carson Lampe wrote.
One person did have another explanation for Mahomes' preferences.
"(I) think it's because of the broadcast team," CBS sportscaster Tracy Wolfson wrote.
The Chiefs will get Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Wolfson for the second time this season in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Chargers. It's also the third 3:25 p.m. CT game of the season.
No. 15 did say his preferences change a bit toward the end of the season, and for good reason.
"Once you get towards the end of the season, I like the primetime ones at 7 no matter if it’s Monday, Thursday, or Sunday night,” he said.
Playing in prime time is good practice for those postseason games where you'll have all eyes on you, and you can never have enough practice for those big moments. However, his preference for the afternoon games only further strengthens the bond between Mahomes and the Chiefs Kingdom.
