On Friday afternoon, verified Twitter user Rich Ohrnberger, who is a former NFL player, "reported" that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a sitdown with his fiancé Brittany Matthews and his brother Jackson Mahomes and told them not to come to any games in 2022.
According to Ohrnberger, Mahomes was concerned about the distractions and hurting his brand.
(Here's a quick rundown of why Mahomes' brother and fiancé have become polarizing public figures.)

This immediately seemed suspect. Something like that would be extremely out of character for Mahomes.
My suspicions of a false report appeared to be confirmed a few hours later when Mahomes seemingly responded to the wild rumor.

National NFL reporter Matt Verderame reported that the rumor was false as well.

It's been a strange couple of days for Mahomes. First, he had to deal with the fallout of an "argument" (or whatever you want to call it) between him and Matthews that was caught on camera during the Texas Tech/Baylor game. And now he's having to deal with this crazy rumor.
It sounds like it's going to be a long offseason for the Mahomes family.
