Yes, we have talked about it enough, and most of you are probably ready to be done talking about it by now, but there is one more thing that needs to be brought up for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The penalty that was called, well, apparently the ref Carl Cheffers hasn't gone back on what he called, and in fact, doubled down on the call.

Here is a look at why he said it was a roughing the passer penalty.

"The quarterback is in the pocket and he's in a passing posture. He gets full protection of all the aspects of what we give the quarterback in a passing posture. So, when he was tackled, my ruling was the defender landed on him with full body weight. The quarterback is protected from being tackled with full body weight. My ruling was roughing the passer for that reason."

Then, the referee was asked if the ball coming out of Carrs' hands has any effect on the call being changed, and this is what he said.

"No, because he still gets passing protection until he can defend himself. So, with him being in a passing posture and actually attempting to make a pass, he's going to get full protection until the time when he actually can protect himself. The fact that the ball came out and was subsequently recovered by the defense is not relevant as far as the protection the quarterback gets."

After the game, like everyone else was, Mahomes was asked about the call. As a quarterback, I'm sure he would have liked to get a call like Carr got being in the situation.

"Yeah, I mean, it wasn't the greatest call in the world," Mahomes said. "At the same time, I mean it is a hard job as a referee, but obviously, whenever the ball comes out and that guy, I mean he is going to try to get off of him but they are both fighting for the ball at the same times, and it's tough, but you have to find a way to bounce back and we did."

The call was downright atrocious. I think we can all agree on that. However, the referee doubling down on the call is just hilarious to me. He knew it wasn't the right call. I mean, he has to know, right?

This call could have swung the game in a bad way for the Chiefs. Luckily, it didn't, and the Chiefs were still able to walk out of Arrowhead on top.
