Travis Kelce looked a little different this week when he and his brother Jason Kelce began their New Heights podcast.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end opened the show by putting on the Texas Tech mascot head. And he delivered the opening lines for the podcast while wearing it.
"I got this silly ass mascot head on, but I'll tell you why in a second," he told the 92%ers.
And Jason couldn't hold back his laughter the entire time.
"As you can see, Travis is dressed to the nines for this occasion," the older Kelce brother said.
For anyone wondering, they can thank Patrick Mahomes for this.
"I might as well tell you guys why I even have this mascot head on and where it comes from. It comes from good ole Lubbock, Texas," Travis explained. "That's right. The Texas Tech Red Raiders beat up on our Cincinnati Bearcats over the weekend, and me and Pat had a fun little wager that we came up with.
"If the Bearcats would have won, Pat would have been at the press conference that he has every single week, wearing a Bearcat mascot head. And sure enough, as you can see, the Bearcats lost because I'm sitting here looking like an idiot, wearing this Red Raiders mascot head."
However, Jason was definitely a fan of the look.
"I'm going to let you know right now, you don't look like an idiot at all," he said.
And the two continued to go back and forth for a bit.
Travis: "Jason, this is just who I am. I feel like, you just got to own it."
Jason: "You look like a full on version of Yosemite Sam. The Red Raiders clearly stole Yosemite Sam directly from the cartoon."
For context here's what Yosemite Sam looks like:

So what was Travis' experience like wearing the Mascot head?
"It's extremely hot in here. There's not a lot of air coming through this thing, so it kind of feels like I'm hyperventilating a little bit," he said and was then asked if he has a newfound respect for mascots.
"Not that I didn't already respect them, but if this is what they're doing in Lubbock, Texas in 100 degree dry-a** heat, f*** that… And on top of that, they're running around getting everyone excited."
The tight end did not back down from the wager.
"Shoutout to the Texas Tech Red Raiders for getting the dub. It was the first time the Bearcats played Tech, and me and Pat wanted to have some fun with it knowing that I don't think we've ever matched up on the football field before.
"So Bearcats, I need you guys next time. But you didn't disappoint either. That was a great game."
But the best part was when he took the mascot head off and had on his Cincinnati Bearcats hat.
