Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill chose money over playing with arguably the best quarterback in the NFL.

And now he's trying to convince everyone that he made the right decision.

Hill, who was traded by the Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins earlier this offseason (he subsequently signed a mega-contract extension), hasn't been shy about praising his new quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa.

The praise has been so over the top that it almost feels like Hill is trying to convince himself, as well as everyone else, that he's in a better situation in Miami than he was in Kansas City.

First, there was Hill complaining about his usage in the Chiefs' offense (despite being No. 7 in the NFL in targets last season). Then he suggested that Tua is a more accurate passer than Patrick Mahomes.

Hill's latest comments are even more over the top.

The speedy wide receiver had Tagovailoa on his podcast this past week and they dove into the "chemistry" they have together.

And Hill had a very strange way of describing it.

"Expect a Dennis Rodman and a Carmen Electra connection," said Hill.

"I just feel that our chemistry will get there," added Hill. "Look, it's going to be about 2 A.M. one night and you're gonna wake up and walk in your kitchen and I'm going to be washing your dishes. That's how good our chemistry is going to be."

I'm not even sure where to start.

For starters, the Rodman/Electra comment is bizarre on several different levels. I mean, those two were married for nine days before Rodman tried to have the marriage annulled. Nine days! Is Hill suggesting that the connection with Tua is going to implode shortly after the season starts? I don't think that's what he was going for, but that's how it comes across.

This all reeks of a player trying to convince himself and everyone else that he's in the right place. It's like when you see all those mushy Facebook posts from a couple and then all of a sudden they're separated. Hill is giving off those same vibes.

You can't fault Hill for getting paid — NFL players only get so many chances to maximize their value. But part of getting paid is accepting the circumstances you inherit. And Hill has to understand he's not in Kansas City with an all-time great anymore. Instead, he's in South Beach hoping that Tua can rediscover the magic he had at Alabama.
