Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs ended Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's career on Sunday night.

The Chiefs beat the Steelers 42-21 in the wild card round of the playoffs. Unless there's a sudden change of heart, it was Roethlisberger's last game in the NFL.

Immediately after the game, Mahomes and Roethlisberger shared a special moment at midfield.

According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, Mahomes told Roethlisberger how much respect he has for him as a quarterback.

"I just told him I have so much respect for him," said Mahomes. "I've watched him growing, and the way he plays the game, he competes to the very end. And he did that this whole entire season."

Mahomes and Roethlisberger also agreed to a jersey swap, an exchange that was caught on camera.

There's no doubt there's a lot of respect between Roethlisberger and Mahomes.
