The Kansas City Chiefs don’t necessarily have a remade wide receiver room, but it sure feels like they do.

That’s because Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown each missed most of the 2024 season with significant injuries. We never got see Rice, Brown, and 2024 first-round draft pick Xavier Worthy play a single snap together last season.

That is on track to change in 2025 as the Chiefs prepare to face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1. Rice and Brown are now healthy, and Worthy has a year of NFL experience under his belt. In addition to those three will be Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Royals, and JuJu Smith-Schuster. While speaking to the media on Tuesday, Worthy said that everybody in K.C.’s WR room is a deep threat.

“I feel like anybody could do that in the room right now,” Worthy said. “I mean, Rashee could go do that. That shows the camaraderie and what we got going on in the room, everybody can go make a play at any moment. They (opposing defenses) have to respect everybody on the field.”

Worthy went on to explain how all of that speed can pay off for the Chiefs’ offense this season.

“I feel like it could open a lot of things up,” Worthy continued. “We got Trav (tight end Travis Kelce) running all the underneath the routes, whatever he needs to run. We got guys like me, Hollywood, Rashee, and Tyquan to take the top off. We got the intermediate game. You have to play the whole field with all of us on the field.”

We got a small taste of how explosive K.C.’s offense can be during its preseason finale against the Chicago Bears last week. With so many deep threats at WR, opposing secondaries will constantly be on their heels. That will not only open up the intermediate passing game as Worthy mentioned, but also the Chiefs’ rushing attack.
