When a team wins a Super Bowl, as the Raiders have done three times, that team then hosts the season opener the next season. This past year, we saw the Chiefs, who beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl the year prior, host the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football.
In 2024, the Raiders could be that team that plays the Chiefs in Week 1 to kick the season off, which also means they can not only spoil their ring and banner night but spoil their potential chances of having a three-peat, which has never been done before by any NFL team.
Now, beating the Chiefs in Week 1 certainly doesn't eliminate them from the playoffs, as they lost in Week 1 to the Detroit Lions and then wound up winning the Super Bowl. However, it does make things a bit harder on the Chiefs.
And, hey, we know the Raiders can beat them because they did it in the last matchup. The two teams played against one another, and that was without the Raiders completing a pass on offense after the first quarter.

If I had to guess who gets that matchup, it's likely the Ravens, who just lost to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship, or the Bengals, who seem to be the only team who can beat them in the postseason.
But if it is the Raiders, we know they will be ready.

While some of the rookies haven't gotten to show their skills due to injury like Trent McDuffie, others are making strides. We have seen Jaylen Watson, the seventh-round cornerback for the Chiefs has […]
