The Miami Dolphins may still have a bad taste in their mouth after a tough loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but all is not bad in the realm of teal and white.

A quality bye week is a good place to start. The Dolphins had a few guys that were injured that needed to get right before the final stretch, and getting a week to recover while sitting at 6-3 was pretty perfect timing.

To make matters even better for Miami, the rest of the AFC East decided to implode in Week 10, and that should be enough to cement the Dolphins atop their division for the rest of the season.

Week 10 was about an ugly a showing as it could be for the AFC West. The Jets, Patriots, and Bills lost in pretty dramatic fashion, and none appear to have the legs to recover from such disasters.

The Jets were already a bit of a lame duck after losing Aaron Rodgers, but there were a few flashes due to a great defense and quality supporting weapons on offense.

Those flashes are mostly gone now after New York lost to a Raiders team that fired its head coach and benched its starting quarterback.

Speaking of benching starting quarterbacks, the Patriots look like they have finally moved on from Mac Jones after pulling him ahead of the last drive in a come-from-behind situation in favor of Bailey Zappe.

The results there were pretty hilarious for the Dolphins as Zappe threw a horrific pick to leave the Patriots without a clear option at their most important position and another loss.

Finally, the Bills lost to the Broncos, a sentence that is less surprising based on the recent trajectories of both teams, but the overall trend with Josh Allen has been worth Miami keeping an eye on.

Allen has lost some of the hype he came into the season with and has thrown 11 interceptions on the season. Again, not much for the Dolphins to worry about in a division race, even if Buffalo did win big earlier in the year.

This all went about as good as it could for the Dolphins. None of the teams were able to catch up to Miami in terms of the playoff race, and now all three have genuine concerns surrounding their most important positions (including coaches), but nothing is really won on the bye.

The Dolphins will define themselves when they come back from this week ready to go, and the hope is that this time will lead to some better matchups for the Dolphins against their rivals down the stretch.

The momentum is clear at this point. The Dolphins are trending in the right direction. Their rivals aren't. The results will speak for themselves.
