Minnesota Vikings emerging superstar sent a major lump of coal being snubbed from Pro Bowl Games
Jalen Redmond had a breakout season in 2025, showcasing skills you would normaly see from a first round pick, but it wasn’t enough to make the Pro Bowl Games.
The Minnesota Vikings were completely snubbed from the Pro Bowl Games on Tuesday afternoon. It was the first time since the 2014 season that the Vikings didn’t have a single player making the Pro Bowl roster, and just the third time ever, with 1983 being the only other time.
With the Vikings being a 7-8 team, there aren’t going to be a lot of standout performances, especially with quarterback J.J. McCarthy missing six games, and wide receiver Justin Jefferson not being in sync with his quarterbacks all season.
Kicker Will Reichard is an obvious snub, but kicker is a really tough position to make the Pro Bowl. The biggest snub the Vikings had came from Brian Flores’ defense.
Jalen Redmond one of biggest Pro Bowl Games snubs
When the Vikings signed Jalen Redmond in June of 2024, he was the 90th man on the roster. The former UFL player with the Arlington Renegades and the thought was he would be a good depth player for training camp and the preseason. Well, things took a turn when he dominated throughout and made the initial 53-man roster.
He only played 216 snaps as a rookie in 2024, but he earned the starting spot over Jerry Tillery at the end of the season, and played so well that general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah traded nose tackle Harrison Phillips. In return, Redmond had a breakout season.
He thrived as a starter for Brian Flores, playing 719 snaps through 15 games, second on the defensive line to only Jonathan Allen’s 734. He is tied for third on the team in pressures with 33, while also logging 6.0 sacks and 11.0 tackles for loss. His performance throughout the season was plenty worthy of being a Pro Bowler in 2025, especially since he thrived in all phases of playing defensive line.
Now, it’s hard to make the Pro Bowl on the defensive line, as there are only three spots at a deep position. Should he have made the Pro Bowl over Jalen Carter, Leonard Williams, and Quinnen Williams? There’s an argument that he should be, especially since Quinnen has played in just six games in the NFC. However, all three are certainly deserving.
It’s a tough position to make the roster, but Redmond was certainly deserving.
