Maxx Crosby shared what Cam Ward does that ‘a lot of quarterbacks don’t want to’ after the Raiders win over the Titans
Maxx Crosby ruined Cam Ward’s day, but he has a lot of respect for him.
Cam Ward’s 6th outing in the NFL was his worst outing in the NFL. Sunday of Week 6 went very poorly for the first overall pick, as his Tennessee Titans offense looked utterly broken against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Raiders’ best player is EDGE Maxx Crosby, who had one heck of a day in the 20-10 win for the home team. And he went on his podcast and shared what impressed him about the Titans rookie passer despite the ugly showing.
Maxx Crosby Shares His Opinion Of Cam Ward
Cam Ward looked like he’s regressing this past weekend, as his first six weeks have gotten more concerning one game after the other. How he’s trending was one of, if not the driving factor behind Brian Callahan’s dismissal less than 24 hours after the game last weekend. Ward’s behavior both on and off the field in this game was particularly troublesome, as it was reported by Titans Radio sideline reporter Will Boling that Ward’s body language and interactions with others on the sideline looked different in Vegas. More on that at the link here.
On the other sideline, Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby ate to his heart’s content against Ward and the Titans offensive line. He finished the day with two sacks, three tackles, two TFL’s, and three QB hits. Former 1st Round pick JC Latham was getting his lunch money stolen by Crosby in his first game back from injury at right tackle, and Ward suffered for it.
“He’s a hell of a competitor, and I love his attitude. I know he’s got his legendary, you know he had his legendary celebration, but like in the back of my head, I’m like, I’m gonna hit it at some point. He’s one of those guys, like he reminds me of Mahomes in this way, where like, he’ll hold the ball until the last possible second. You’ve got to respect that because a lot of quarterbacks don’t want to get hit like that, and he doesn’t give a damn. He’s just trying to win.”
Patrick Mahomes comparisons flew around for Ward during the draft season, as irresponsible as they may have been, but that’s dried up lately. Nothing about the young QBs struggles has evoked a taste of the maestro of the league lately. So for Crosby to say this—who has as much up-close experience trying to ruin Patrick Mahomes’ day as anybody on the planet—carries real weight.
The Titans hope this latest major shakeup changes things for their young franchise player in his remaining 11 games this season, as he continues to try to hone some of the high-level traits that opponents like Crosby see into a more consistent way to win plays… and eventually, win games.
