Has anyone had a better year than Minnesota Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah?

In a year that was meant to be a rebuilding one after losing quarterback Kirk Cousins and edge rusher Danielle Hunter while having over $70 million in dead salary cap space, the Vikings are now 12-2 with a clear path to the number one seed in the NFC playoffs.

The Vikings' record is a testament to the entire organization, but mostly because of the free-agent acquisitions.

Aaron Jones reaches 1,000 yards

Against the Seattle Seahawks, running back Aaron Jones reached 1,000 yards rushing for the season, a mark that had only been accomplished twice by a running back in his first season with the Vikings.

Jones has been a renaissance for the Vikings this season. One of the biggest flaws with the Vikings' offense was the lack of a running game and Jones has finally given head coach Kevin O'Connell a running back he can trust with consistency.

That's another feather in the cap of Adofo-Mensah's case for executive of the year. Jones was one of many great pickups the Vikings made this offseason. Edge rushers Jonathan Greenard, Andrew Van Ginkel and Dallas Turner along with inside linebacker Blake Cashman, cornerback Stephon Gilmore and quarterback Sam Darnold.

Those players don't even include the trade for left tackle Cam Robinson to stabilize the offensive line when Christian Darrisaw went down with a season-ending knee injury.

The National Football League should just give Adofo-Mensah the award to him now, as he's more than earned it.
