Jayden Daniels’ highlight reel flag football play should have Commanders fans fired up for 2026 season
Jayden Daniels reminded us how good he is after a jaw-dropping touchdown throw in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic.
The Washington Commanders are making the roster better this offseason for franchise QB Jayden Daniels to succeed, but in the meantime, he’s living his best life.
Daniels was hand-selected by the goat himself, Tom Brady, to be the other captain for the second team competing in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic. He put together a roster full of superstars like Joe Burrow, Davante Adams, and Odell Beckham Jr to try to take down the U.S. Men’s National Flag Football team, but they came up short.
Daniels did remind us, however, that he could be an elite flag football player for the 2028 Summer Olympics, and even more important, that he’s going to light it up for the Commanders next season.
Jayden Daniels makes a jaw-dropping throw to Davante Adams
Daniels took the football field for the first time since his season was officially shut down after re-aggravating his elbow against the Minnesota Vikings, and he picked up right where he left off. The game started with Daniels making some good throws, and he even ran in a touchdown. His first big touchdown was a dime to Beckham Jr, who showed that he still can catch with just one hand.
We thought that would’ve been the highlight of the game, but that was just the warmup for Daniels and the offense. Daniels would then throw a touchdown pass to Adams from one endzone to another against the U.S. Men’s National Team, who won the whole tournament by a landslide.
The pass reminded us that Daniels still has one of the best deep passes in the NFL, and that should be coming back next season with a revamped team and coaching staff. We did see one thing, however, that nobody expected at all, but might happen one day in the NFL.
Jayden Daniels also played WR for Joe Burrow
Daniels isn’t just a QB, he’s also an elite athlete, and when you have Burrow on your team, you gotta let him throw it sometimes too. That’s exactly what happened when Daniels started lining up as a WR throughout the game, and even brought in a receiving touchdown from his fellow LSU Heisman trophy-winning QB.
We haven’t seen Daniels go out for a pass yet in his young NFL career, but maybe David Blough will have something up his sleeve in his new offensive scheme after watching Daniels play with Burrow. Overall, it was a fun game to watch, and a great opportunity to knock off some rust, show his arm strength to remind everyone how good he is, and continue to grow his brand as a face of the league.
