The Buffalo Bills bounced back after a brutal stretch of football.
While it wasn't pretty, the team did what they needed to do to get the job done. Buffalo proved victorious in their 31-23 win over the Cleveland Browns.
In their victory, Buffalo found a new identity for their offense.
Typically, it's the Josh Allen show. Whether it's with his arms or legs, the game rests on his shoulders (or feet).
Ken Dorsey, the Bills' offensive coordinator, drew up a different game plan this afternoon.
Devin Singletary and James Cook saw ample opportunities and ran roughshod on the Browns' defense.
The dynamic duo combined for 172 yards and a touchdown.
Even with their recent struggles in the running game, Buffalo is the only team in the NFL to rush for 100+ yards every game this season.
However, most of that success comes at the hands (or feet) of Josh Allen. Today, that couldn't be further from the truth as Allen only accounted for eight yards on the ground.
Other opportunities on offense
While it wasn't the best Josh Allen game of the season, he improved on his turnovers from recent weeks.
Allen was able to find one of his trusty targets from last season in Dawson Knox.
Dawson Knox had a career-high seven receptions for 70 yards. A welcoming addition to a recently-struggling offense.
Not getting Steffon Diggs the football early and often wasn't the best decision, but seeing Knox finally get himself on the stat sheet in a meaningful way is important.
The Bills' success running the football opened things up for Knox and Allen and the duo took full advantage.
While Allen struggled for the majority of the first half, the run game allowed his passing to open up even more.
The franchise quarterback ended his day going 18/27 for 186 yards and a touchdown.
Injuries are still a concern
Leading up to the matchup the Bills announced a handful of key players would be missing time.
Some of the biggest concerns were Tre White's continued lack of availability and Tremaine Edmunds missing time.
Fortunately, while their presence was missed it wasn't necessary for success on the football field today.
Buffalo will have a short week as they head back to Detroit to take on the Lions on Thanksgiving.
Get healthy, continue to build off this, and continue to run the football.
