The Florida Gators improved to 4-2 in National Semifinal games on Saturday night with a 79-73 victory over the Auburn Tigers. It was the first time they had worn blue in the Final Four since the 2006 National Championship Game against the UCLA Bruins. They parlayed that magic into making their first National Championship Game since 2007 where they beat Greg Oden and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

There were numerous Gator alums in the crowd, including head coach Billy Napier and former Gators basketball coach Billy Donovan, who was nominated for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Tim Tebow praises Florida Gators PG Walter Clayton Jr.

The last time the Gators won a National Championship in basketball, Tim Tebow was about to begin his Heisman Trophy-winning season. He knows a thing about winning a National Championship.

Tebow had a great quip about All-American point guard Walter Clayton Jr., who was the catalyst to the Gators' win on Saturday night, as he wants a jersey.

It's easy to see why Tebow would want to score a jersey of the best player in the NCAA tournament right now, outside of Cooper Flagg. He was lights out for the Gators against Auburn, becoming the first player since Larry Bird in 1979 to score 30 points in both the Elite Eight and Final Four.

"I feel like everybody sees it," said Florida guard Will Richard after the game about Clayton. "He's poised, calm and collected, confident in himself. We have that confidence in him. We see him practice. We see his work ethic. We're glad everybody else is getting to see him do it in a game."

Clayton was poised the entire game, no matter the situation. He got timely baskets, made smart decisions, and shot 5-7 from three point range. The Gators are having the run they are because of the heroics and consistency of Clayton.

There is only one more game left, and Clayton will be ready to take the Gators to the next level and join Tebow in Gators immortality.
