Notre Dame football is gearing up for a College Football Playoff run, and their journey will begin Friday, December 20th at home against the Indiana Hoosiers in the first round. The Fighting Irish have ridden a strong running game and staunch defense to this point, and look to be a very difficult out this postseason.

Another huge part of Notre Dame being able to win the final 10 games of the season is quarterback Riley Leonard. A former Duke transfer, Leonard got off to a slow start this season before setting in down the stretch. In 12 games, he has accounted for 2,813 total yards, and 30 touchdowns. Leonard has also thrown just five interceptions on the season while completing over 66 percent of his passes.

In the past Leonard has talked about the network that Notre Dame provides, and all the support he has around him. That includes a lot of former Irish quarterbacks, who he has complimented for giving great advice. Leonard joined GoJo and Golic to talk with Mike Golic and Mike Golic Jr. about his ascension, and the best advice he has been given.

“Living with no regrets and knowing who you play for,” Leonard explained. “Whenever you know who you play for, obviously Jesus Christ and also the people in this locker room. That really dials it down because I know I’m playing for these guys who I love and care about so much. They respect me so much as a person. It doesn’t even really matter my performance on the field. It takes a lot of stress off of you. Live with no regrets, and let it fly. At the end of the day you’re only here for a year. Your time is going to pass anyway.”

For anyone who has heard Leonard speak in the past, he is a young man who is deep in his faith and clearly has a deep belief in the process. “Letting it fly” down the stretch is going to be big for this offense. While Notre Dame is a heavy running team, being able to create some explosives in the passing game will be huge.
