Sunday is huge for these two teams or any teams in the postseason for that matter. However, for both the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, this game is a bit different. There are so many narratives surrounding the game on Sunday.
For the Chiefs, they want to prove that the league has not caught up to them. Not only that but Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are still not on the same level, even in a "bad" year for Mahomes.
For the Buffalo Bills, they are playing the same team that ended their season last year. Kansas City sent the Bills home in the AFC Championship game. For Buffalo, this is all about revenge.
The Chiefs will need to be careful on Sunday, or they could easily mess around and lose. If they don't shut down these offensive weapons for Buffalo, Chiefs fans could be in for a long game.
Bills offensive weapons for Chiefs to watch
Gabriel Davis, WR:
The former University of Central Florida receiver has had a great first two seasons in the NFL. When you consider the weapons on the team, and players who are in front of him, like Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley, his stats are impressive.
The 6'2", 22-year-old receiver had almost the exact same season as last year. With 63 targets, Davis was able to connect on those 35 times. Davis finished 2021 with 549 yards and six touchdowns.
Cole Beasley, WR:
Here is a guy who is constantly playing through pain, and hardly ever misses games. That is what he is known for. He played on a broken ankle before, so you know Beasley is tough.
This year, he has been pretty good for a second or even third option at times. With 16 games this year, Beasley finished with 112 targets and 82 receptions. He was able to take those for nearly 700 yards, and one touchdown. This is a guy the defense will need to watch for, as he can be sneaky.
Emmanuel Sanders, WR:
Sanders has been on a few different teams now, but that is not necessarily a bad thing for him. He has been a hot commodity, and teams want his skill set as a deep threat.
This year, Sanders struggled with injuries a bit, but overall has been solid. In 14 games Emmanuel Sanders finished with 72 targets and 42 receptions. The even better thing is that he finished with 626yards on that few of receptions, meaning he can take the ball downfield.
The Chiefs have their hands full on Sunday. Now, they have to execute on defense, and that will help them make it to their fourth straight AFC Championship.
