When Taylor Swift heads to Argentina for her next tour date, you might see a lot of people in the crowd wearing Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce's No. 87 jersey.
No, really, a lot of people.
Kelce already had one of the most popular jerseys in the NFL given the Chiefs' success, routinely ranking in the top 25 in the league over the past several seasons. Back in August, he was top-5 among all merchandise sales. His relations with the pop star have caused an unprecedented jump in his jersey sales.
According to a report from the Associated Press, Fanatics says that Kelce is now top-5 in active jersey sales. They reported a "nearly 400% spike in sales throughout the Fanatics network of sites, including NFLShop.com."
Of course, this all came after Swift appeared at the Chiefs' Week 3 game against the Bears to watch Kelce play on Sunday. Swift sat in Kelce's suite beside his mom, Donna Kelce, and she erupted as if she'd been a Chiefs fan for life when Kelce scored his touchdown.
The two left the stadium together and closed down a popular rooftop bar in Kansas City to host a shindig alongside Kelce's teammates and family.
We'll see where things go from here, but Swifties have already shown a desire to get to know more about Kelce and support their idol's new love interest.
