The Tennessee Vols will have a former five-star recruit on campus for a transfer visit later this week.

247Sports’ Tom Loy confirmed on Wednesday that Ohio State Buckeyes transfer cornerback Aaron Scott will visit Tennessee on Friday and Saturday, following his visit to Oregon on Thursday.

Scott, 6-foot/195 pounds from Springfield, OH, was rated as the No. 6 cornerback in the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 1 player in the state of Ohio.

Aaron Scott has multiple connections to Tennessee

Scott taking a visit to Tennessee certainly isn’t a surprise.

For starters, the Vols are still in the market for some transfer defensive backs.

Secondly, Scott, who also recently visited Wisconsin, has several connection’s to Tennessee’s new defensive staff.

The former five-star recruit played under new Vols defensive coordinator Jim Knowles as a true freshman at Ohio State in 2024.

Scott also spent the last two seasons at Ohio State with new Tennessee cornerbacks coach Michael Hunter (Hunter was previously the assistant cornerbacks coach at Ohio State).

The Ohio State transfer totaled nine tackles for the Buckeyes as a sophomore in 2025.

Scott also saw a lot of action on special teams for the Buckeyes in 2025. In October, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day told reporters that Scott was “going to start playing more football around here”.

It makes sense that Scott and Tennessee are interested in each other. We’ll see if the Vols can close the deal once he makes it to Knoxville.
