One of the Tennessee Vols’ top 2027 recruiting targets was in Tuscaloosa for an unofficial visit with the Alabama Crimson Tide this past weekend.
2027 five-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman was in Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday night for Alabama’s 37-20 win over Tennessee.
Bowman, 6-foot-1/174 lbs from Brentwood, TN, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 5 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 31 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
The talented wide receiver decommitted from the Oregon Ducks last month just a few days after taking an unofficial visit to Tennessee for the Vols’ game against the Georgia Bulldogs.
According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Bowman received an offer from Alabama during his visit on Saturday.
“What excites me most about Alabama is the standard they hold,” said Bowman to On3. “It’s all about competing, getting better, and winning championships…I would say all of my top schools are pretty neck and neck with each other and Bama made their way up there.”
Bowman also recently took a visit to LSU.
Former Tennessee Vols linebacker Kevin Simon said last month that Kesean Bowman has orange in his sights
Former Vols linebacker Kevin Simon suggested last month on 99.1 The Sports Animal that Bowman has “orange in his sights”.
Simon made the comments just two days before Bowman decommitted from Oregon.
“I think some good things are going to happen in Tennessee,” said Simon. “I know Kesean Bowman, who’s committed to Oregon, you know, he’s starting to feel a little different. He’s starting to feel the love from Tennessee. So, we’ll see…..He’s got orange in his sights.”
Simon’s son, Kenneth (a 2027 four-star linebacker), is teammates with Bowman at Brentwood Academy.
It certainly seems that Tennessee is one of the favorites for Bowman, but with schools like Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, and Ole Miss involved, this recruiting battle still has a long way to go.
