It's time for the Colts to listen to what fans are begging them to do
Training Camp is right around the corner for the Indianapolis Colts. But there is one more move that they'd be foolish not to target before it begins. I and the entire fan base have been begging them to do all off-season long: upgrading at FS. Luckily for the Colts, one of the best FSs in the NFL […]

But there is one more move that they'd be foolish not to target before it begins. I and the entire fan base have been begging them to do all off-season long: upgrading at FS.
Luckily for the Colts, one of the best FSs in the NFL over the past few seasons remains a free agent waiting for his next destination in this league.
Justin Simmons

Former Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons somehow still remains unsigned ahead of the 2024 season. He's had at least two interceptions during every year of his career so far, as well as having at least three interceptions each season since 2018. And while last season might have had slight regression in terms of his statistical production, he clearly still has a lot in the tank.
He will turn 31 years old in November during the upcoming season. If the Colts chose to sign the talented safety, he would become the oldest player in their secondary and tied for the fourth oldest overall. The team is currently set to have Rodney Thomas II and Nick Cross compete for the role, both being players who struggled, to say the least, in 2023. This could end up being a massive mistake if both don't drastically improve this season. Simmons would raise both the floor and ceiling of the Colts' secondary, which would go a long way toward the defense taking a massive step as a unit in 2024.
If I were Chris Ballard and the Colts, I would give Simmons a two-year deal to man their starting FS spot. This would allow the Colts to have a stable starter for the next two seasons as well as an excellent mentor for two young safeties who may not be quite ready to start, but I think I have plenty of future upside to be excited about: Nick Cross and Jaylin Simpson. And with the Colts opening up cap space by restructuring DeForest Buckner's contract, they have the money to pay him up front to limit the cap hit next season to warrant a multi-year deal (two or three).
Quenton Nelson speaks on the Colts’ decision to release his former teammate
It's not every day we see Indianapolis Colts All-Pro Quenton Nelson take time out of his offseason to join a podcast. Luckily for Colts fans, his friendship with former Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan led him to appear on his show "Bussin With The Boys." Which included him speaking about the shocking release of […]
Colts QB Anthony Richardson has his eyes set on a specific event now that he’s healthy
Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson's shoulder injury forced him to miss the majority of his rookie season in the NFL. He is set to return as the team's starter in 2024. Now that he's healthy it looks like Richardson has his eyes set on something else as well. After his injury, Richardson missed out on more […]
