The Kansas City Chiefs have announced two practice squad elevations for their Week 18 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
Linebacker Blake Lynch will make his Chiefs debut after just signing with the team this past week, and Chris Oladokun will backup Carson Wentz at quarterback.
The Chiefs will be resting both linebackers Nick Bolton and Drue Tranquill against Denver. With backup Jack Cochrane on injured reserve, Lynch will be thrusted into action with just a few practices under his belt.
An undrafted free agent out of Baylor in 2020, Lynch spent his first two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before bouncing around with the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Chargers, Seattle Seahawks, and Las Vegas Raiders. He may not get a ton of defensive snaps, but will certainly play on special teams.
Oladokun is in his third year with the Chiefs and has never appeared in a regular season game. He is an athletic player who can make plays with his legs and he should be well adapted to the offensive system by now. It's possible that Oladokun gets the first game action of his career late in this contest.
As most know by now, Kansas City has nothing to play for as it has the No. 1 seed in the AFC locked up. A few starters may play due to the numbers game, but it will be mostly backups out there for the Chiefs. It will provide them a golden opportunity to show the entire league what they can do and get noticed.
