The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles officially completed their second practice sessions in New Orleans, Louisiana, ahead of Super Bowl LIX.
The Eagles continued to practice at the New Orleans Saints facility while the Chiefs worked at Tulane's Yulman Stadium. Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters on Thursday that today's practice would mimic a typical late-season Thursday practice for Kansas City.
That usually entails the most challenging practice of the week with third-down and situational football work.
In other news, the Eagles have an illness spreading around the locker room.
Quite a few of their players were sick and on the injury report last week. Eagles DT Jalen Carter was limited in practice and missed media availability on Wednesday due to illness. Unfortunately, that illness appears to have spread to the Chiefs now as well.

Observations:
- The Eagles added backup OL Nick Gates to the injury report with a groin injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday. That's notable, given that Landon Dickerson and Cam Jergens dealt with injuries during the NFC title game.
- Kenneth Gainwell and Jalen Carter each saw their practice participation upgraded to full on Thursday from limited on Wednesday.

Observations:
- Araiza was not listed on Wednesday's injury report due to illness, but he was listed on the report today with an illness and as a full participant. It clearly didn't impact him in practice on Wednesday, given that he was listed as a standout in the pool report, booming an 80-yard punt that caused unsuspecting teammates to scatter.
- It's no surprise that with travel and media scrums, players are coming down with seasonal illnesses. The question will be just how much this impacts Araiza and his preparation in what is his first Super Bowl.
- Note: NFL injury reports require players who receive any treatment for injuries or illnesses to be listed.
