The Kansas City Chiefs were back at practice on Thursday, their penultimate practice ahead of Super Bowl LVIII. They'll have a walkthrough on Saturday, but things are wrapping up and the game is now in sight.

Andy Reid didn't provide any new injury updates during media availability, but Peter King's pool report suggested that the team is preparing for Nick Allegretti to start in place of All-Pro LG Joe Thuney.

"I would probably bet towards Allegretti played," Reid told King on Wednesday. "For Joe (Thuney), it's a strength thing. Right now, it's not strong enough."

Observations:

  • Rashee Rice was listed on the injury report with a single ankle injury on Wednesday. Now he's listed with ankle(s), plural. He was a limited participant in practice. Hopefully, this is just out of an abundance of caution.
  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire was limited with an illness on Thursday. This has been a common theme this season and shouldn't impact his status on Sunday.
  • Jerick McKinnon turned in a second consecutive limited practice. Monitor his status and game status designation tomorrow.
