The Kansas City Chiefs have clinched the AFC West division and are locked into the No. 3 seed in the AFC conference. As a result, they'll face the No. 6 seed in the AFC at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium during the wild-card round of the playoffs.

There are 18 possible outcomes to Week 18 games that could impact the Chiefs' opponent in the wild-card round, with five different opponents still possible heading into the final week of the 2023 NFL season.

Here's a quick breakdown of how it could all play out:

Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are the Chiefs' most likely opponent for the wild-card round of the playoffs. There are eight different scenarios where Kansas City would end up facing Miami:

Pittsburgh defeats Baltimore + Indy defeats Houston + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Buffalo defeats Miami

OR

Pittsburgh defeats Baltimore
+ Houston defeats Indy + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Buffalo defeats Miami

OR

Indy defeats Houston + Jacksonville defeats Tennessee + Buffalo defeats Miami

OR

Indy defeats Houston + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Denver defeats Las Vegas + Buffalo defeats Miami

OR

Houston defeats Indy + Jacksonville defeats Tennessee + Buffalo defeats Miami

OR

Houston defeats Indy + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Denver defeats Las Vegas + Buffalo defeats Miami

OR

Baltimore defeats Pittsburgh + Indy defeats Houston + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Las Vegas defeats Denver + Buffalo defeats Miami

OR

Baltimore defeats Pittsburgh
+ Houston defeats Indy + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Las Vegas defeats Denver + Buffalo defeats Miami

The NFL adage goes that it's tough to beat the same team twice in one season. This is one of two repeat opponents Kansas City could face. The Chiefs already managed a win against the Dolphins in Germany back in Week 9. This would also be a homecoming game for Tyreek Hill at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Buffalo Bills

Four different Week 18 outcomes would see the Chiefs facing the Bills in the wild-card round:

Baltimore defeats PittsburghIndy defeats Houston + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Denver beats Las Vegas + Miami defeats Buffalo

OR

Baltimore defeats Pittsburgh + Indy defeats Houston + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Las Vegas beats Denver + Miami defeats Buffalo

OR

Baltimore defeats Pittsburgh + Houston defeats Indy + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Denver beats Las Vegas + Miami defeats Buffalo

OR

Baltimore defeats Pittsburgh + Houston defeats Indy + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Las Vegas beats Denver + Miami defeats Buffalo

The Chiefs lost 20-17 to Buffalo at Arrowhead Stadium back in Week 14. Buffalo is one of the hottest teams in the NFL.

Pittsburgh Steelers

There are two scenarios where the Chiefs would face the Steelers in the wild-card round:

If Pittsburgh defeats Baltimore + Indy defeats Houston + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Miami defeats Buffalo

OR

If Pittsburgh defeats Baltimore + Houston defeats Indy + Tennessee defeats Jacksonville + Miami defeats Buffalo

This might be the optimal matchup in Round 1 to ensure a victory. They're one of two potential opponents with a backup quarterback.

Houston Texans

There are two scenarios where the Chiefs would face the Texans in the wild-card round:

Pittsburgh defeats Baltimore + Houston defeats Indy + Jacksonville defeats Tennessee + Miami defeats Buffalo

OR

Baltimore defeats Pittsburgh + Houston defeats Indy + Jacksonville defeats Tennessee + Miami defeats Buffalo

The Chiefs' last game against Houston in the playoffs came in 2019. The team came back down double-digits to defeat the Texans 51-31 en route to their Super Bowl LIV win.

Indianapolis Colts

There are two scenarios where the Chiefs would face the Colts in the wild-card round:

Pittsburgh defeats Baltimore + Indy defeats Houston + Jacksonville defeats Tennessee + Miami defeats Buffalo

OR

Baltimore defeats Pittsburgh + Indy defeats Houston + Jacksonville defeats Tennessee + Miami defeats Buffalo

This is probably among the least favorite options for superstitious fans in Kansas City. The team has a history of blowing it in the playoffs against the Colts.
