Chiefs Injury Report: Key defender returns to practice for Lions after missing Week 5 game vs. Jaguars
This could be the week everyone gets healthy enough to play.
It’s a quick turnaround for the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6 as they get set to host the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football.
The Chiefs are continuing their upward trend in healthy, while the Lions have several key starters battling through injuries, especially on defense. Let’s examine each team’s first injury report of the week.
Chiefs’ Wednesday injury report
| Player | Injury | Wednesday |
| DT Omarr Norman-Lott | Shoulder | FP |
| CB Kristian Fulton | Ankle | FP |
| LB Nick Bolton | Calf | FP |
| LB Jeffrey Bassa | Knee | FP |
| DE Charles Omenihu | Ankle | FP |
| WR Xavier Worthy | Shoulder/Ankle | FP |
| WR JuJu Smith-Schuster | Knee | FP |
| WR Hollywood Brown | Ankle | FP |
| OT Jawaan Taylor | Knee | FP |
| RB Kareem Hunt | Calf | FP |
| QB Patrick Mahomes | Groin | FP |
Observations
- Every active member of the Chiefs’ roster fully participated during Wednesday’s practice. That is a rarity for any point of the season, and obviously a great development.
- Rookie defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott returned to practice after missing Friday’s of last week with a shoulder injury, which cost him playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night.
- Cornerback Kristian Fulton logged his first full practice in several weeks and could be in line to return after missing the last three games.
- Linebackers Nick Bolton and Jeffrey Bassa, as well as running Kareem Hunt are new additions to the injury report, but should be fine after practicing in full.
Lions’ Wednesday injury report
| Player | Injury | Wednesday |
| CB Terrion Arnold | Shoulder | DNP |
| LB Zach Cunningham | Hamstring | DNP |
| OT Taylor Decker | Shoulder | DNP |
| S Kerby Joseph | Knee | DNP |
| WR Kalif Raymond | Neck | DNP |
| WR Amon-Ra St. Brown | Wrist | DNP |
| RB Sione Vaki | Groin | DNP |
| DB Brian Branch | Ankle | LP |
| DT Alim McNeill | Knee | FP |
Observations
- Two offensive starters missed practice for the Lions on Wednesday. The biggest is Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is off to a huge start in 2025 and is one of the best wide receivers in the league. Stating left tackle Taylor Decker also did not practice. It would be a significant blow if either of them are unable to play on Sunday night.
- Detroit’s’ secondary is ailing as both starting safeties in Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch missed practice. Cornerback Terrion Arnold did not practice and has already been ruled out of the game. The Lions are already down one starting CB in D.J. Reed, who is currently on injured reserve.
