Over the last few weeks, it's felt like a constant back and forth between Alabama and Florida State after Seminoles quarterback Tommy Castellanos made an interesting comment about the Crimson Tide not being able to stop him because they didn't have former head coach Nick Saban there to "save them" anymore.

Even earlier today, I wrote about former Miami quarterback Cam Ward confronting Castellanos about the comments at a recent workout that also had new Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Horton in attendance. Now some hours later, here we are again after Tide linebacker Deontae Lawson was asked about the comments at SEC Media Days on Wednesday.

While on the set of SEC This Morning with Peter Burns and Chris Doering, Lawson was asked to share his thoughts. His response was… telling.

“It definitely ignites us [Alabama's defense] a little bit,” Lawson responded. “We can’t really think too much on that. It’s gonna come down to what we do and how we prepare that week. I think all disrespect will be addressed accordingly.”

What started off somewhat of a boring answer was then finished with a pointed and bold statement. For anyone who hasn't read the original comments from Castellanos, here's what he told Pete Nakos with On3 last month:

“I’m excited, man. People, I don’t know if they know, but you go back and watch every first game that I played in, we always start fast. I dreamed of moments like this. I dreamed of playing against Alabama. They don’t have Nick Saban to save them. I just don’t see them stopping me."

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd guess that'd be the type of statement one would take as disrespect, so according to Lawson, those comments will be addressed when Alabama takes the field against Florida State for the season opener on Aug. 30.

The Crimson Tide are currently 12.5-point favorites over the Seminoles. The game is set to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT, and it will air on ABC.
