Colts hosted Utah TE and basketball player Caleb Lohner for a top 30 visit

Caleb Lohner began his college basketball career in 2020 at BYU. After two seasons, he transferred to Baylor for his next two years and finished his career in 2024 at Utah. His best college basketball seasons came at BYU, where he averaged a career-high 7.0 points per game and started 44 of his 46 total collegiate starts during his five-year career. His basketball career was not very successful after leaving BYU, though, as he only averaged over 10 minutes per game once in his final three seasons and averaged an uninspiring 2.8 points per game during his three seasons away from BYU. Though it didn't translate to much on-court success, his basketball background certainly came out in his athletic testing, with him earning an 8.83 RAS score, which ranked 157 out of 1332s TE in the database.

After transferring to Utah for his final year, Lohner decided to also pick up football for the first time in his collegiate career. He dressed for all 12 of Utah's games this past season and recorded four receptions for 54 yards. The best stat about his season, though, is the fact that all four of his college football receptions ended up being touchdowns. Lohner is now trying to do what multiple college basketball players have done: make the jump to the NFL to be a tight end. However, the fact that he got to have even his minimal time on the field is a leg up over some prospects who have attempted to do it. It shouldn't shock anyone that the Colts could pursue a player like this, with Mo Alie-Cox being a multi-year starter at TE for the franchise after a productive career at VYU as a basketball player.
