When you have as bad of an offense as the Oklahoma Sooners had last year, you are always looking at every possible way to make sure a season like that does not happen again. That's exactly what they are doing when it comes to recruiting.
Last season it was a handful of things for the Sooners, but one of the biggest reasons the offense got so bad was because of the injuries they suffered at crucial positions like offensive line and wide receiver. And with injuries, comes depth, and you have to have good depth in the SEC. Last season proved that the Sooners' depth at both positions just wasn't good enough.
So, they are always going to try and recruit well, but now certainly they will at those positions. They have recently landed in the top six for a 2026 player that would help them for years to come.
Oklahoma Sooners land in top six of 2026 WR
Jayden Warren is a top wide receiver prospect from the 2026 high school class. He plays for Iowa Colony High School in Rosharon, Texas, and is known for his size (6-foot-2, 185 pounds), speed, and athletic ability.
In his 2024 sophomore season, he had 26 catches for 613 yards and 14 touchdowns, earning him a four-star rating. Recruiting sites like 247Sports rank him as the 33rd-best wide receiver in the country and 24th-best player in Texas for his class.
Warren also shines in track, winning Texas 4A bronze medals in the 100-meter (10.59 seconds) and 200-meter (21.07 seconds) races, and a silver in the 4×100 relay. He’s got offers from big schools like Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, SMU, and Wisconsin. However, Oklahoma, SMU, Texas A&M, Nebraska, TCU, and Houston are all in his top six.
He’s set to play in the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl and has narrowed his college choices to six schools, with visits planned, including one to Nebraska in April 2025. His recruitment is gaining momentum, and he’s a name to watch.
