The New York Giants are in an extremely tough spot entering the 2025 NFL season. Head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen need a big season or their jobs are most likely in jeopardy. That has led this franchise to go the veteran route at quarterback, and are clearly in “win now mode.”

Now only a couple of weeks until the 2025 NFL Draft officially kicks off, the Giants strategy is going to be fascinating to watch. This is a roster with several big needs, so taking the best player available is a solid strategy. That was the focus in this recent 7-round mock draft.

Round 1, Pick 3: Abdul Carter, EDGE Penn State

EDGE is not a need on paper, but who knows what the future looks like for Kayvon Thibodeaux. Carter was also the best player on the board, and one of the elite talents in this class overall. You can never have enough talented pass rushers.

Round 2, Pick 34: Tyler Booker, OG Alabama

Booker consistently frequents first round mock drafts, but becomes a value selection in this slot. He is an extremely physical lineman who plays with a mean streak. This offense needs a little bit of an attitude injected into their play.

Round 3, Pick 65: Jaylin Noel, WR Iowa State

Whether you want him to play in the slot or on the outside, Noel brings legitimate juice and nuance as a route runner. Noel is also much better at the catch point than you would expect for a player his size. He brings a lot to the table.

Round 3, Pick 99: Tyler Shough, QB Louisville

Quarterback isn’t an immediate need for the Giants, but the long term future remains a major question mark. Due to injuries and age, Shough is an imperfect prospect. There are, however, a lot of building blocks to build on.

Round 4, Pick 105: Nohl Williams, CB Cal

Williams is a big cornerback with impressive spatial awareness and ball skills. The Giants have big needs at cornerback, so adding young talent is important. He brings a solid floor to the table.

Round 5, Pick 154: Jalen Travis, OT Iowa State

The former Princeton transfer possesses a massive frame and good overall athleticism. Travis matured physically a ton during his lone season with the Cyclones. He brings some tools to work with.

Round 7, Pick 219: Kyle Monangai, RB Rutgers

There may not be a more underrated running back in the 2025 class than Monangai. He plays with a low center of gravity, and extreme physicality. Monangai is also a tremendous pass blocker as well.

Round 7, Pick 246: Maxen Hook, S Toledo

Hook strikes me as a player that is going to be a standout special teamer forever. Hook is also a very sure tackler on defense. He brings a lot of value.
